Fly from the Isle of Wedmore, out over the wide skies of the Somerset Levels.
Wedmore sits on a low ridge of higher ground in the middle of the Somerset Levels – once an island in the marshes, and still known as the Isle of Wedmore. It’s a lovely spot to launch, with the Levels spread out in every direction.
From the air the Levels are a patchwork of fields, rhynes and willow, often lying under morning mist. The Mendip Hills and Cheddar Gorge rise to the north, Glastonbury Tor stands out to the south-east, and on clear evenings the sun sets over the Bristol Channel.
