Hot air balloon rides over Glastonbury
Rise up beside Glastonbury Tor and float out over the Isle of Avalon.
Few places in England are as instantly recognisable from the air as Glastonbury Tor. We launch from the Tor Leisure playing fields in the centre of town, close to the Tor itself, so St Michael’s Tower is right beside you as the balloon climbs.
From above you see how the Tor rises out of the flat Somerset Levels – the old Isle of Avalon. Depending on the wind, flights may pass over the town and the Abbey ruins, towards Street and the Polden Hills, or out over the wetlands of the Avalon Marshes towards Wells and the Mendips.

Balloons fly with the wind, so no two flights follow the same path – your pilot will point out the landmarks as you go.

We fly around sunrise and in the evening a few hours before sunset, when the air is calm. We’ll text you the exact meeting time and confirm the weather the day before. Allow three to four hours for the whole experience.

Do you fly during the Glastonbury Festival?
The festival site is at Pilton, a few miles away, and the area gets very busy in festival week, so please talk to us before booking a flight for those dates.
